Moving towards an eco-friendly world and creating a sustainable environment

With the world going green and people favoring eco-friendly ways it’s always good to adopt a sustainable lifestyle. You can start with smaller things and then move on to bigger changes in your lifestyle. Some of the smaller changes for a good eco-friendly life can be using less paper, using eco-friendly bags instead of plastic, purchasing CFL bulbs, cutting down on energy consumption and much more.

You can even cut down on your meat consumption if you’re non-veg. According to the latest reports by experts, livestock sector accounts for huge percent for deriving the Co2 emission from activities related to humans. In many ways people can select to go traditional and use old products at their home instead of throwing them away. If you love the retro style and have various vintage products then you can create a new innovative style out of it. Today huge amount of people just love the traditional accessories for their vintage cars, one of those products is the corvette radio.

When it comes to plastic consumption, everyone knows that it is the biggest contributor to environmental pollution. You can go for the canvas bags instead of using the plastic bags. These bags are in style, so you won’t need to compromise on style front while using a new trendy bag. Along with plastic one of the other products that should be handled with care is paper. If it is necessary for you to use paper at work then you must make sure that you recycle it. Relying on digital technology has really helped in saving paper and producing more trees. Recycling is a very easy technique and it is one of the best methods to live a healthy life.

Living a greener lifestyle

Welcome back! Today’s quick article aims to show you some pretty simple ways you can save money and live a greener lifestyle. Please keep reading for more information – bearing in mind that an eco-friendly lifestyle doesn’t mean spending a lot of money. Here are some quick tips.

Coffee: Using certified coffee means that the beans were grown using proper environmental standards. Keep this in mind the next time you go hunting for beans! You should also consider bring a proper travel cup to your next trip to a coffee shop because there are people who MIGHT be willing to top you up at a good discounted price. Hey, you never know and all it takes is to ask.

At the Office: Well, you should know this by now, but setting your printer so it prints double sided is incredibly important and useful. If you are going to be away from your screen for a prolonged period of time, it’s always a good thing for your computer to enter sleep mode. Saves you a whole bunch of electricity!

With Children: You have to build habits from young. Things like turning off video game console and TV after paying, turning off the tap while brushing their teeth, recycling plastic bottles and other sorts of things can be built from a tender age.

Transport: Goes without saying, but take public transport if it’s convenient to you whenever possible. Driving a car is incredibly polluting for the environment, unless of course you own a Tesla (most of us don’t sadly).

Recycling Tips

Did you enjoy our first article? That’s great! We’ve been hearing great things about it – today I want to address recycling. This is definitely something all of you should be familiar with anyway. Knowing how to recycle correctly is crucial because we know plenty of people that do it wrongly. If you are placing waste and recycling items in the wrong bins, this will cause contamination. Keep this crucial concept in mind – it’s important.

First of all, you should not be placing your recycling in plastic bags. Loose recyclables might not always be the most convenient to do so, but you have to try regardless. You should always be paying attention to any bin stickers or signs that tell you what you can and cannot do around these bins – make sure you obey them properly because it’s important to listen to specific instructions!

Next up – you should always make sure that recyclable items are not contaminated with food stuff, liquids or any sorts of hazardous materials. This is key here – food stuff should always go to the landfill bin without exceptions because you cannot recycle it! Duh.

You should be folding your cardboard boxes all the time to fit them into your bins – or cut them up into smaller pieces simply because it is much more convenient for the rest of society to deal with your mess as well. Make sure you are clear with what can and cannot be recycled too – for a full list you should check out this comprehensive website!

Welcome to! We are a bunch of climate change worriers – we care about the environment very much. This has pretty much led to the creation of our little blog over here. We want to share some tips that everybody can start implementing immediately to save energy and reduce your carbon footprint. Now, I’m sure you already know the dangers of global warming so I’ll do my best not to get into that at all. Here’s a quick video on CNN for some perspective.

Now, let’s look at some pretty quick and easy energy saving tips for your home. Ceiling insulation is a big one – it is by far the most effective barrier against the summer heat and also the winter cold. Contact your local roofer to get this in place because a properly insulated household will be able to defend against the extreme weather conditions quite easily. Next, you should be looking to turn your home into a ‘seal’ by closing all the gaps between external walls and floors. Air that gets outside easily is terrible at trapping or retaining temperature – it is the same principle as keeping your thermos closed otherwise it doesn’t really do anything. Closing your windows is incredibly important too – most people think you need to keep the windows open but the reality is it doesn’t help very much.

Next tip? Dress for the weather indoors. Putting on an extra layer at home is much more energy efficient than turning on the heater. You should be able to decrease running costs by quite a fair bit, and this is always a welcome thing.

Do you know what the most expensive appliance in your home actually is? Have a guess – it is actually your fridge. You need to make sure that your door seal is always tight, free from gaps and in perfect working condition all the time.

Next, you should only be heating or cooling the rooms that you are using. This is pretty much a no brainer, but it still needs to be said. Some people still think leaving the lights on is okay – not if you want to save money. You should also be looking at energy efficient appliances and the like – things like energy efficient globes are always a good alternative and can save you a lot of money as well in the long run.

The last tip for you is to not use a dryer – especially if you have your own garden and space to hang up your clothes. By doing so you can save an easy $200 a year. Also, you should consider investing in standby controllers and the like to save money and electricity. Having these appliances around will allow this unit to cut off the power whenever it isn’t in use for a long time. If you want to look up a long list of accredited installers feel free to go to check out some of the interesting tech out there– I think you’ll enjoy yourself with what’s being offered.

Keeping the environment in one piece is everybody’s responsibility. You should be doing your part!
